Covid-19 Procedures and Protocols
At Philosophy Salon ensuring the health and safety of our clients, team, and community remains our top priority. It is our responsibility to provide a safe, sanitized and comfortable experience for everyone who enters our salon.
We have always prided ourselves on our dedication to the client experience. We take our role as trusted members of the community seriously and we want to share with you the procedures and protocols we have instituted to ensure a safe salon reopening.
We will be seeing clients by appointment only, modifying appointment durations and availability, and only using every second station. Additionally, you will not be able to book two (2) services in one appointment/for the same day (i.e. we cannot book color services and cut services on the same day).
Spacing between clients in the salon will be 6 feet apart at minimum. This will help us to maintain a more controlled environment for the health and safety of everyone.
Due to the schedule changes of the Stylists and the Social Distancing regulations set in place by the Government of Ontario, your appointment(s) may not stand as they were previously reserved. Our team will be working diligently to accommodate the many changes that have occurred and to make this the pleasant, welcoming and connected experience that Philosophy prides itself on.
We have always had a fun and close environment and we will do our best to continue offering that experience, even surrounding these temporary restrictions.
We ask for your patience and understanding surrounding this new landscape and we appreciate your continued support.
PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:
If you or anyone in your household has traveled outside of Ontario within the last fourteen (14) days, or have any symptoms of fever, coughing, cold or feeling ill, we ask that you reschedule your appointment to a later date. We will not perform your service if we feel you are ill or unwell.
Wear a face mask in the salon at all times. Please bring a personal mask from home. If you do not have one, custom Philosophy face masks are available for purchase.
Arrive no more than five minutes before your booked appointment. Please call the salon (416.928.0200) to notify us of your arrival. You will be asked to wait outside until your stylist is ready, if needed.
Arrive in clean clothing, wearing a low necked shirt so that you do not have to remove any clothing in order for your service to be completed. We ask that you do not wear hoodies, turtlenecks or any shirt with a high collar.
Please limit your personal belongings to one (1) small purse/bag, that must remain on your body and under the provided robe at all times. All belongings must remain on your person at all times.
Outside food and/or drinks will not be permitted in the salon. Serving beverages of any kind, magazines, and complimentary charging stations will be unavailable.
At this time we would prefer that all payments are made with cash. If you must use a card for payment a $4.00 surcharge will be applied to your bill.
Attend appointments alone. Friends, family members, children and/or pets will be asked to stay at home.
For our single-process clients we are still going to be offering DIY colour kits for pick-up at the salon.
ARRIVING AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
We ask that touch-less greetings and goodbyes be the standard, we will not be shaking hands or hugging at this time.
Expect to have your temperature taken at the start of your appointment. We will use a infrared thermometer to check the temperature of every team member and client that enters the salon. Anyone with a temperature above 99°F will be sent home, advised to seek medical attention and welcomed to return to the salon when a fever and symptoms of COVID-19 no longer exist.
Please wash/disinfect your hands upon arrival using the restrooms and/or sanitation stations provided. There will be sanitization stations set up by the front door, at reception and at every styling station. When using water and soap it is advised to wash hands with clean, warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds paying special attention to under/around your nails and joints.
DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT:
All clients will be provided with a freshly laundered robe upon arrival.
If you wish to purchase any product(s), please speak to the front desk or your stylist about your preferred products and they will collect the items and have them ready for the end of your service.
Outside food and/or drinks will not be permitted in the salon. Serving beverages of any kind, magazines, and complimentary charging stations will be temporarily unavailable.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Due to the current circumstances we have raised our prices.
At this time we would prefer that all payments are made with cash, so that we can keep our fees down. If you must use a card for payment a $4.00 surcharge will be applied to your bill.
WE HAVE MANDATED THAT ALL TEAM MEMBERS:
- Wear a mask at all times.
- Wash their hands, before and after every appointment.
- Clean and disinfect their chair, station, and all tools (with alcohol) before and after every appointment.
- Sanitize their hands throughout the service if they change tools or step away from their station at any time.
- Stay home if they are sick and/or not feeling well.
Although they are necessary, we recognize that the changes to the Philosophy experience are difficult. They are as frustrating for us as they are for you. Philosophy has always been a place where your experience comes first. We will do our best to continue offering that experience.
We will continue to monitor the situation as it progresses. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to keep well, stay informed, and follow the advice of health care officials. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
